The Most Popular Cart Noodles Shop in Sham Shui Po 文記車仔麵

Sham Shui Po is famous of delicious local food and this cart noodles shop in Sham Shui Po is so popular that it is rare to find it without people queueing up in front. They are famous of having large selection of toppings and noodles for people to choose.

In case you don’t know what cart noodles is. Here is a quick explanation: there is no set menu, you choose what noodles and toppings you like and they would put everything together in a bowl. It is called cart noodles because it was used to be street food and people cooked the food from a cart on the street back in the days.

My favourite is their “Chongqing Hot and Sour Noodles”. Usually I would choose middle level of spiciness in winter or low level in summer (don’t wanna go too sweaty during summer), with whelk meat, squid & beef stomach as toppings. Plus salted lime 7up drink to put off the fire.

See the bottle with the yellow tip? It is their hot and spicy oil. You can add a few more drops if you think the noodles is not spicy enough. Try it with a few drops first and test how it goes before you start to regret.

Of course, you don’t have to order the exact types of food mentioned above. It is cart noodles, very liberal, and ghetto.

Note: there are three stores on the same street. Only the one in the photo above has the “Chongqing Hot and Sour Noodles” to choose.

Address:

Man Kee Noodles,

121 Fuk Wing Street, Sham Shui Po.
