Friday HK Movie Night
“A Chinese Ghost Story” - Tsui Hark A classic Hong Kong movie from the 80’s. It’s a very typical Hong Kong style movie because, according to Wikipedia, it’s a “Hong Kong romantic comedy horror film” (and don’t forget there are always action scenes in Hong Kong movies back in the days, so it is also an action movie). Therefore basically it has everything. This movie boosted the stardom of main actress Joey Wong, won main actor Leslie Cheung popularity in Japan, and sparked a trend of ghost films in the Hong Kong film industry.
