Quiz: What Was This British Building 100years Ago?
This 110-year-old British building is now partly used as a school building. Do you know what it was over a century ago?
First take a look around. There is a road leading to the site with a European architect style of entrance.
There is a small house next to the entrance, which is empty inside... looks like it has been forbidden for quite some time.
Going up to the road you will see two British old buildings. The smaller one is now the office of a charity, Mother’s Choice. The bigger one is now partly used by Carmel School and Chung Ying Theatre Company.
“E.R.I” on the pipe means “Edwardus Rex Imperator” implying it was made during the era of Edward VII, 1901-1910.

The answer is...
British Military Hospital.
It was built between 1903 and 1906, and officially opened on 1 July 1907.

It was also referred to Bowen Road Hospital because it is very close to Bowen Road. HONGKONGUIDE suggest people can first visit the scenery Bowen Road (Check the guide here), and walk down there.
