Unleashing the Deliciousness of Shatin Chicken Congee & Pigeon: A Flavorful Fusion

In the old days Shatin has some famously signature food, which are chicken congee and fried pigeon that people would deliberately visit Shatin to eat them. There are a few restaurants which are famous of serving these food such as Lung Wah Hotel where Bruce Lee had visited.

Fried pigeons can be found everywhere in Hong Kong, but chicken congee (tasty one I mean) is still kind of limited in Shatin which are not as commonly found in Hong Kong as pigeons. Shatin chicken congee was also famously known as “Keung Kee Chicken Congee” because “Keung Kee” was the name of the restaurant.

Recently I visited Golden Goose Seafood Restaurant in Shatin (their Chinese name is “New Keung Kee”). Their chicken congee still wowed me and their pigeon kept the original taste back in the days which I loved them both. Plus the restaurant still keeps the original interior in good condition. It was a nice experience and I felt like travelling back to the old days in the 90s!
