“Strangers” on ITV Hong Kong Shooting Locations List (with Address)

Highly anticipated British TV series “Strangers” premiered in September.

The series follows Jonah Mulray (John Simm) as he investigates his wife's death in Hong Kong, and finds himself tangled in a web of secrets he never expected to discover.

Not only the drama itself is fascinating, but also it shows off the best attractions in Hong Kong. We have received many inquiries about the shooting locations of the drama. HONGKONGUIDE is the first one to present you a full list of the shooting locations with addresses provided. Note: We will try to minimise spoilers, but still, spoilers alert. Main Scenes 1. Ma Tau Kok Road, To Kwa Wan

When John Simm first met Anthony Wong in Hong Kong, the street full of apartments from the 50s is Ma Tau Kok Road in To Kwa Wan district.

Address: 50 Ma Tau Kok Road, To Kwa Wan

2. Causeway Bay & Mong Kok

The location where Katie Leung protests is Causeway Bay, next to Sogo Department Store.

Address: E Point Road, Causeway Bay

When Katie tries to escape from the police, she runs to Ladies’ Market in Mongkok. There is no way people could run there from Causeway Bay because you have to to cross the Victoria Harbour.

Address: Ladies' Market, Shantung Street, Mong Kok

3. Hong Kong Observatory Wheel, Central

When Anthony Hayes is talking with Katie Leung on the phone, he is standing in front of Hong Kong Observatory Wheel. See guide here.

Address: Central Ferry Pier, Central

4. Yik Cheong Building, Quarry Bay

When Daniel Tsui is talking with Faraz Reza, they are at the well-known shooting location of The Transformers movie, Yik Cheong Building. Not recommend to go there though, see why here. 5. Chung Hing Mansions

John Simm wants to get her wife’s phone fixed, and he goes to Chung Hing Mansions, which is also shooting location of multiple awards-winning movie “Chung Hing Express”. See the guide here. 6. Star Ferry Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui

The place needs no introduction. Probably one of the most popular spots in Hong Kong. Best place to take photos of the iconic Victoria Harbour view.

Address: Star Ferry Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui

7. Tin Hau Temple Complex, Yau Ma Tei

John Simm and Anthony Wong are talking in front of the Tin Hau Temple in Yau Ma Tei. Don’t forget to check out the night market there also. See the guide here. 8. Tian Tan Buddha, Ngong Ping

John Simm is investigating his wife’s death and visiting different attractions in Hong Kong at the same time. Of course he can’t miss the Tian Tan Buddha.

Address: Ngong Ping Road, Lantau Island

9. Lau Fau Shan

Katie brings John to a mysterious restaurant in the far north of Hong Kong, Lau Fau Shan. It is famous of eating fresh seafood and harvest oysters. Great choice.

Address: Lau Fau Shan Main Street

Drink like the Strangers

Every time when John meets Anthony Wong it is either at a park or at the corner of the street. However when he meets beautiful ladies, it has to be at the rooftop bars, gotta be classy. Wife is dead anyway, who cares.

1. Penthouse, Causeway Bay

Address: 30/F, 1 Tang Lung St, Causeway Bay

2. Wooloomooloo, Wan Chai

Address: The Hennessy, 31/F & Rooftop, 256 Hennessy Rd, Wan Chai

Other scenes from Strangers 1. One International Finance Centre

Address: 1 Harbour View Street Central HK, Central

2. Hung Hom Promenade

Hung Home Promenade is less crowded than Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui with an awesome harbour view also. Check the guide here.

3. Mong Kok

Address: Bridge, 20 Mong Kok Road, Mong Kok
