Taxi driver has to give change

Taxi driver is required by law to carry with him/ her for the purpose of giving change to a passenger not less than HKD$100 worth of notes and coins. That means taxi driver is responsible to give you exact change. If visitors have issues with taxi drivers, they can either call the police by dialling 999 for assistance, or ask the driver to drive to the nearest convenience store to break down the money.
