Taking Star Ferry and crossing Victoria Harbour is a must-do thing when visiting Hong Kong. However, there is one thing which many people don't realise - Star Ferry is double deck.

But you have to choose before you pass the gate. You cannot go up and down like when you are riding the bus.
Which line?
You can access either upper or lower deck when taking Star Ferry between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central line.
You can only access to upper deck when going between Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai
What is the difference?
Upper deck is more expensive, but only a few cents more, so most people won't bother. It is more expensive because it is more scenic from the upper deck and also it is air-conditioned at the front and the back.
How?
The entrances connected to the two decks are separate in the piers, so you need to check the sign before you pay and pass the gate.
